You're Doing WHAT? Why?

I thought to start off this blog, I would answer the most common questions I received in planning this trip.

The What
I am traveling the world for 10 months. Yes, primarily by myself. Yes, I know that is a long time. No, I am probably not coming home during that time. And, no, I have not lost my mind.

The Where
The original plan was to start in India and work my way through SE Asia, China, Russia, Eastern Europe, and North Africa. However, once the math had been done, it was clear that it would not all fit in the timeframe allotted. So, I have shuffled some countries and shaved off others. No worries, though -- it just means there are more trips to take in the future.

The Why
The simple answer is because I have always wanted to. Even when I was a little kid, I always wanted to travel the world, see exotic places, and meet different people. I just realized that if I didn't start now, I would miss the opportunity.

I will try to post regularly, but I may not always have access to the internet, so don't take the lack of posts as a sign that I have decided to leave it all and become a monk.

I did want to take this opportunity to say thank you to my friends and family for your interest in my journey and for all of the great advice you have given me. I am very happy to be able to share this with all of you.
