Perhaps I am just not up on the latest fashion around the world, but I was surprised to find out how huge Chucks are here. I still have a few friends that wear them, but I thought they left the mainstream quite some time ago.
For those that didn't go to high school in the late 80s/early 90s (or the 1950s for that matter), I am referring to Chuck Taylor Converse All-Star hi-top sneakers.
There are entire stores of Chucks here and there is even a chic hotel here where the doormen wear grey slacks, white button downs, loose orange suspenders, and black Chucks.
I just had to Chuckle.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDD pun at the end. NICE!
Yes, the 80's have come back in full swing and the Chucks are kickin' again. Most now are the early 90's type that are sewn so there are no laces. Gotta love the mixing of eras -- white Chucks (no laces) flourescent green socks, black skinny jeans, studded red belt, tight T-shirt, dangling earings, and of course...mini-pins. There's more, but I'm nauseated.
