A Walk in the Park

My goal today was to see the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors used to pray for good harvests. But part of the fun of a visit to this park is people watching. Early in the morning, thousands of people pour into this park to partake in various activities. Some are using the exercise equipment or are standing around reading the paper, which is posted on a bulletin board. But as you get further into the park, you discover more groups of people taking classes or practicing performances.

(I have to explain the one below, or explain it as best as I can. This group contained about a hundred people standing around clapping and chanting in rhythm. That's about as much as I understood.)

Some activities cannot be explained as well in a picture as they can in a video. If you can't tell, these people are balancing a ball on a racket while performing their movements.

Then I found a few guys that were having some more fun with the same equipment, non-chalantly passing the ball around between them.

But, when they noticed me filming them, they got a little fancier with the movements.

These guys were definitely the best act in the park.

The three guys at the end look like they're playing a chinese version of hackey-sack. Good stuff.
